N4J works with partners to identify initiatives that reflect its mission
to help vulnerable populations adapt to the climate crisis.

Ecuador: Sustainable Management of the Andean-Amazonian Cloud Forest

N4J is supporting Fundación Los Aliados (Aliados) in Ecuador to work with marginalized communities being affected by the climate crisis in a critically important region of the Andean-Amazon slope in Ecuador, where up to 20% of eastern tropical cloud forests have been lost in the past two decades.

N4J will support and train community-based agriculture extension personnel to promote improved farmer income via crop diversification and also to implement a monitoring and evaluation system that includes reduced threats to protected areas and restoration of degraded forests.

Ghana: Climate-Smart Agriculture Around National Parks

N4J will support Nature Conservation Research Center (NCRC) in Ghana to develop a local landscape-level, climate-smart cocoa agricultural support system in areas around three national park.

This initiative will contribute to Ghana’s national climate change goals and support cocoa/chocolate company commitments to source cocoa from deforestation-free supply chains.

N4J’s support will include both technical expertise on smart agriculture but also resources for implementation, monitoring, and adaptation.
